Dave Eggers: A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius There is really only one Journey reference in the book, but the book as a whole is beautiful. There was some discussion of it on Back Talk last year. It is the true story of how Eggers' parents died of cancer within one month of each other, and how he had to raise his kid brother pretty much alone. That, while still trying to have some semblance of a normal life. Eggers has become somewhat of a critic's darling despite this only being his first novel, but I read in Entertainment Weekly that it may become a movie soon. I'd love to see the Any Way You Want It bit on the big screen! See more info... |
