Today Santana revolves around one of its founders, Carlos Santana, and employs current stars to sing lead vocals--from Rob Thomas to Michelle Branch to Placido Domingo. But the original band (now enshrined in the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame) was less Carlos' creation than one with equal members.
